Lester Young the year he died, in 1959. There was never a more perfect jazz hero than this exquisite tenorist.. Tragic, flawed, funny and a genius. He and Billie Holiday were two kindred souls who just found life too much. They left the same year. Exhausted. Worn to nothing.Drawn originally for a set of postcards around '94. The original now lives in Camden, owned by the vivacious and talented photographer, Anne Clements.
