Dorset Steam Fair

A black field engine stands in the sun blatantly smoking on a late summer day.
This is a modern day, still fresh in the mind as a pink and green pastel bouncy castle of a day, a field day for families and friends, their prams, their dogs – a letting off steam day for them and assorted veteran metal – hence the black engine: a Fowler, which I notice is made in the same year as my dad: Nineteen Thirteen.

To see the real thing head towards Tarant Gunville in Dorset around August Bank holiday.
It's unbelievable; a million acres of mobile history.
